A hobby is an activity different of work, that you do as leisure for enjoyment, that’s you do for fun on a frequent basis in your free time. Not everyone has a hobby because it is usually related to people who are rich as many hobbies are not free, at least, that what people think. Everything that you do and that is not part of your job can be considered a hobby. Apparently, having a hobby or many hobbies improve quality life and can have a positive impact on your work performance because the happiness you get from your hobby spills over your work.
These are some example of hobbies: sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing softball or bingo, hiking, painting, cycling, play card games, participate to contest, play puzzles, play instrument, speak or learn new languages, travel, home brewing, hunting, crafting, photography, carpentry, collecting things, horseback riding, dancing, swimming, bird watching, museums visiting, etc. The list is endless. Usually people who have found their hobby will take classes or and join a group to better enjoy and share the same interest.
Having a hobby might necessitate a mind shift. So, start thinking about what you can do for you, instead of always thinking about other people first. Think you first, and others after! Do what makes you happy, not what makes others happy. Please yourself first, please other after. It could also cost money, depending of the type of hobby you have chosen. No worries there are many hobbies that cost nothing if money could be an issue. If it is not the case, choices are endless; only time will be limited for you to enjoy all your hobbies.
If you don’t have a hobby, don’t feel bad. You are not alone. Many people don’t have hobbies. But that doesn’t mean they cannot have one or many. In fact, there is no age limit to have a hobby.
Having a hobby is taking care of yourself; it’s one of these rare times where you do things for yourself not for others.
