Ever since joining the home décor community on Instagram, I have been trying to understand what was our home décor style. What type of décor made me smile and happy. I knew for a fact that I loved colors and could not stand completely beige, grey or white rooms. I realized colors really raised my spirit. But I also love the farmhouse decorating style despite it being characterized by very a mix of bland and neutral colors. I adore farmhouse style because of the charm and warmth that it adds to a space. Every time I stumble upon a well-decorated farmhouse style living room or bedroom, my heart just warms up! But I think that I love the freedom and unruliness of the eclectic decorating style and the warmth and traditionalism of the farmhouse decorating style. Eclectic style allows us to mix and blend all types of styles together and let our personality come through. It encourages the coming together of different textures, time periods, colors and styles to create a space that can reflect more than one specific décor style. I think that it is a style that pushes us to mix and match different styles together to create a harmonious space that does not hurt your eye. It is in fact a challenge to juxtapose styles and contrasting colors but it is fun and rewarding.
